Project: Design Forum

Client: Design Forum

Size: 3,200 Sq. Ft.

Schedule Duration: 8 Weeks

Architect: Cornerstone

The former Emrick Chevrolet Building was selected by Design Forum for its central location and historic, unique form. The old car showroom is now an open studio providing a creative spark that allows the free exchange of ideas and information. The project features floor to ceiling windows, low VOC paint and carpets, an open layout and upscale finishes. The building is a leader and integral piece in the revitalization of Richmond’s Historic Jackson Ward district.

The project was not without challenges though as it was up to the team to unite the old with the new while preserving the original architectural elements and historical features central to the client’s values. Along with the team, MGT was able to find the balance as the project was honored as the Project of the Year for Best Interior by the Greater Richmond Association of Commercial Real Estate.
