The Cauthorne Paper Company is just one of MGT’s historic rehabilitation (adaptive reuse) projects to garner media attention. Highlighted in Richmond's “Creative WorkSpace” magazine, this mixed-use development, spanning three old warehouse buildings, features 79 studio, one and two-bedroom loft apartments, 12,000 square feet of commercial space, and onsite parking. As with all adaptive reuse projects, it was a challenge for MGT to procure the historical integrity of the 88 year old building but working with the design team enabled MGT to capture the feel. Throughout the building, units will feature concrete floors—original to the building, exposed brick, and an open floor plan. Tenants of the West wing will be able to enjoy an interior views of the original elevator shaft, now serving as a light well, with all original cables intact.
