- Thalhimer Center
- The Stratford University / Thalhimer Center conversion was honored as Best Reuse Project of the Year at the Greater Richmond Association of Commercial Real Estate’s 10th annual awards ceremony. The project included renovation of the interior and exterior of the existing 75,000 sq ft warehouse previously used for distribution for Stratford University and renovation of the interior and exterior of the existing 28,000 sq ft office space for Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer. The facility was previously owned and operated by S&K.
- The project was also a finalist for the overall Project of the Year award.
- 1816-1822 E Franklin St
- MGT has been awarded the 28,000 adaptive reuse / historic renovation of 1816-1822 E Franklin St in Richmond’s Shockoe Bottom District. The project will host 28 one- and two-bedroom units featuring built-in desk / work areas, iPod docking stations, and surround sound speakers among many other high end finishes. The façade of the building will receive a major overhaul as well. Openings that have been infilled over the years will be opened and new storefront glass will be installed, concrete stairs will be poured for units with direct access from the street, and all existing windows will be replaced along with the roof. The project is scheduled for a March 2012 completion.
- 5 West Marshall
- The historic renovation of the 5 West Marshall building, located in Richmond’s Jackson Ward district, has been awarded to MGT construction. The small apartment conversion will feature 11 one-bedroom units. MGT has previously completed numerous historic renovations in the area to include The Marshall Street Bakery Condos, Emrick Flats, Eco Flats, design forum and Walter Parks Architect.
- SAI at Crescent
- MGT has once again been selected by the owner to perform the tenant improvements for SAI at Crescent Business Center. MGT built all four of the existing tilt-up warehouses in the center and has completed the tenant improvements for each tenant. The project includes selective demo and all new finishes.
- Goodwill
- Goodwill Industries has selected MGT Construction for their new retail location on Princess Anne Boulevard. The 25,000 sq ft space was previously occupied by AJ Wright before closing their doors. MGT will be tasked with selective demolition, construction of new offices, meeting rooms and dressing rooms, and installation of new finishes throughout. The store is scheduled to open in mid-July.
- JMT
- MGT has been awarded the 8,000 sq ft office upfit for JMT at Arboretum. JMT is a multi-disciplined consulting engineering firm that has outgrown its current office space. The project features new offices, a new conference room and break room, and new built-in work stations. The Class A build out will be complete in eight weeks.
- PARI
- MGT has been selected as the contractor for the build to suit tilt-up industrial flex space at Waterford in Chesterfield County. The project will commence in mid- to late-summer with a completion date of spring 2012. PARI is a global respiratory equipment sales and manufacturing company with North American headquarters in Richmond.
- Stonewall Jackson & Liberty Middle School bathrooms
- MGT was awarded the bathroom renovation project for both Stonewall Jackson and Liberty Middle Schools. The work will be performed over eight weeks prior to the start of the new school year.
- Emerson
- MGT has been awarded the tenant upfit for Emerson Ecologics at The Enterchange at Walthall. The project includes construction of 2,000 sq ft of office space, two 310’ deep by 32’ high demise walls, installation of exhaust fans, and new service to the space, HVAC, sprinkler and plumbing. Emerson is scheduled to move into their new space in late summer.
- Corley Building
- MGT has been awarded the 24-unit adaptive reuse / historic rehabilitation of the Corley Building located in downtown Richmond. The project will feature a combination of one-, two- and three-bedroom units with high-end finishes. The project is scheduled for a mid- to late-July commencement and spring 2012 delivery.
- Manchester Motor Works
- Genesis Properties has selected MGT Construction to perform the adaptive reuse / historic rehabilitation of their newest project in downtown Richmond. The former Manchester Motorworks building will feature 40 one- and two-bedroom apartment units, a commercial space and a fitness center for tenants.
- The project is located at the corner of Hull Street and 7th Street in Richmond’s rapidly growing Manchester district. It is conveniently located within minutes of Church Hill, Shockoe Bottom, the Fan and Westover Hills.
- CECOM / US ARMY at Meadowville
- MGT has been awarded the construction of CECOM’s new 11,000 sq ft software integration facility at 2013 Bermuda Hundred Road. The facility is strategically located near Fort Lee and will be used to update technology being shipped to soldiers overseas. The U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM) aspires to be the Army's premier Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) capabilities provider.
- The 11,000 sq ft facility will be built inside the existing 220,000 sq ft warehouse used for offices and storage warehousing. Construction is scheduled to commence in January with 90 day construction schedule.
- C&F Finance Company
- MGT has been awarded the contract for the 10,000 sq ft build out for Kaplan College in Rockville, MD. The project will include classrooms, test rooms, a faculty break room and a student break room. The space will feature high end finishes throughout.
- The construction scope will include demolition of all existing conditions; construction of new offices, conference rooms, server room, and break areas; and, modifications to the existing mechanical systems and electrical. The completion schedule for the project is six weeks.
- Milestone Counseling Service
- MGT was recently awarded the interior renovations for Milestone Counseling Service’s new location at 2205 Perl Road. MSC is a human service provider committed to delivering targeted mental health and supportive case management services to individuals and families living with mental illness. MGT completed the 5,500 sq ft renovation in six weeks. The work included construction of offices, training rooms, a break area, new bathrooms and a back porch and ramp for students.
- Pediatric Center
- MGT was awarded and completed the improvements for the Pediatric Center at One Colonial Place in Glen Allen, VA. The 6,800 sq ft pediatric facility was renovated in phases over the course of three weeks.
